2.      PAC10 Happy Hour

February 19th - Hosted by Cal

The PAC 10 Happy Hour will be Thursday February 19th at Sunset Grill in Brighton.

Sunset Grille and Tap
130 Brighton Avenue, Allston (617)254-1331

Few bars are worth venturing over the Charles for, but the Sunset, with 110 beers on tap, is one. The atmosphere may be lacking and the food might just be okay, but with all that beer on tap - and more in bottles - it's hard to care about anything else.

We gather every month with fellow PAC10 Schools

March 11th - Hosted by UCLA
Location to be announced soon

We will be gathering on opening day of the PAC10 hoops tournament.  Last year had predictable winners and one or two huge upsets.  Come mingle and talk hoops with fellow PAC10 Alumni.

Special note:  exactly one year ago a young Alumnus ventured out to Boston for a job interview... and somehow met up with the UCLA Club of Boston.  The rest is HISTORY... come celebrate the first anniversary of the FROG as a member of the UCLA Club of Boston

Bring a toy to be collected for the Toys for Tots Drive and interact with fellow PAC10 Alumni!

UCLA Boston Scholarship Committee:

We annually award an Alumni Scholarship to incoming freshmen from the New England Area.  The annual scholarship of $1,000 allows our recipient to not only win $1,000 this year but the Alumni Association matches that award for each of the next three years.

Thanks to the USC Raffle and a generous donation from a special Boston area alumnus - we are well on our way to being able to sponsor more than one scholarship this year!

We will be reviewing applications and interviewing applicants during the month of June with a recipient decided upon by June 30th.

If you are interested in joining the scholarship committee or in making a tax deductible contribution - please contact Frank Keller at 617-864-5410 or email me at frank.e.keller90@uclalumni.net

Editorial Review

The city's most fully realized sports restaurant and bar, just steps from the Fleet Center.

The Scene
Thanks to an affordable, easy-to-navigate menu and 140 TVs, the Grille makes an ideal watering hole and an especially appropriate pre- or post-game dining destination. Sports fans of all stripes cheer on their alma mater or their favorite teams on one of the restaurant's 15 satellite channels. Friendly waitresses and bartenders are careful not to distract patrons from the big game.

The Food
From pizzas to burgers to hot dogs, all the filling, artery-clogging favorites one finds at sporting events are here, waiting to be devoured. Those without tickets to a Sox game need only grab a seat and munch on a pair of hulking chili cheese dogs to replicate the experience of catching a game at Fenway. Juicy turkey tips and huge, freshly made salads cater to palates evolved beyond standard pub grub. If your team wins, indulge in one of the grille's all-American desserts (apple pie or chocolate cake).

—Eric Grossman

Insider Tips

Small Fry Alert
Although the restaurant goes out of its way to cater to families (a kid's menu offers the usual hot dogs and chicken fingers), parents are advised to leave them at home during contentious games (namely Sox-Yankees match-ups), when adult patrons can get quite rowdy.

Red Sox Al Fresco
Facing a wait? Don't fret: An outside screen ensures you won't miss a minute of the big game.
