July 26 - Shakespeare on the Common

Saturday night on the Common.  Grab a beach chair and a picnic basket.  Come join fellow Bruins for a night of Shakespeare on the Common.  Show starts at 8pm.  We will need to arrive at the common and claim space no later than 6:30pm.  General info follows until our plan is organized:

MACBETH GENERAL INFO

All performances of MACBETH are free on Boston Common.

The performance lasts about 2 hours and 45 minutes, including one 15 minute intermission.

When you get to the Parkman Bandstand on Boston Common, look for the Hospitality Tent where a variety of information and services are offered:

  1. Chair rentals
  2. Sponsor giveaways
  3. Programs distributed
  4. T-shirts sold
  5. Emergency or on-call patron registry
  6. Handicapped accessible areas

MACBETH can be easily viewed by several thousand people, but the closest seats are often taken early in the evening, so we recommend arriving early if you wish to be very close to the stage.

Uh, oh - rain. We try to hold all scheduled performances and have been known to delay curtain times up to 30 minutes. We do not make a decision about canceling a performance until 6 PM or after. If the weather looks threatening, contact us at 617-747-4486 to see if the performance will be held.

Please be aware that alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the Boston Common.

We do rent beach chairs for your comfort, but we often sell out, so get to Boston Common early. A blanket is sufficient if you do not wish to rent or bring a chair. Due to audience obstruction, tall beach or camping chairs are not allowed.
